Stinging Nettle Discover-ment

I have been holding my own controlled experiment. Another "discover-ment" of sorts.

Nettle

So the other day my hubby read something online about Nettle. Otherwise known as Stinging Nettle. You know the kind that you get stung by whilst retrieving the birdie from the brush when playing badminton at your uncle's house as a kid? Yeah, that kind.

Well, it turns out that it is a natural anti-inflammatory. Read about it here. (I dont' think this is the link my hubby found...)

So I've been taking it before bed and for whatever reason, I sleep like a log now. IF I remember to take it. That's the "controlled" part. When I take it, I sleep great. When I don't, I wake up groggy, neck hurts, hands stiff and not feeling rested.

Not. At. All.

My MIL has gone off all her pain meds for arthritis and my mom had tried it, but hasn't seen any earth shattering results.

I'm going to have to plant this stuff myself because I know it makes a major difference in my aging joints.

Anyway, just passing along the word about Nettle because I like to share.  It may or may not work for you, but it's been a godsend for me.

Thanks hubby for discovering it. :)

  1. I'm gonna try this. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully it won't hurt my stomach like the turmeric did.
